So I've finally gotten the adjuster to settle, and after lengthy debates and conversations his insurance company is going to take 100% fault (he was originally only doing 75% and a lot less lol), and the payout is going to be 8500$. :D we're happy.

The car was a write off...did you see the pictures?

Edit: For the people that are just being introduced to the story...its the red notch in the sig, not the blue one.

yes i did see the pics. Looks like it was worth more the 8500. Well i guess if you include all the time to get a car to look like that again. I was just saying i would have rather not have had a written off stang and 8500 in my pocket. BTW could you guys buy the car back to get the stuff you had into it out again?

Well, he paid less than that for the car....and thats all I'll say. He'd rather have the car as well, but since its gone, at least hes getting a good amount for it.

I dont think it was worth more than $8500 (not taking ANYTHING from the car at all, I hope it doesnt look that way) so getting that is definately a good deal. Sucks the car got wrecked as it was a beautiful car, but $8500 can buy you another very nice fox, or even a nice SN 95 if thats what hes into!

If we want the salvage title, they're taking 10% off, so he just said screw it. Welds, mods n' everything.

Somebody's gonna have a field day with that car when it hits the boneyard with all those goodies still in it. Either a junker is gonna get rich, or someone with a sharp eye (or maybe an inside connection) and a really clueless junkman will nab a lotta cool stuff for cheap.

I agree, $8500 in cash is by no means preferrable to the notch you had, but what the heck ... you can find another one in decent shape for far less than that, and have plenty left over to mod it up back to your liking. Time to start a new set of happy memories behind the wheel of another notch.

well...you couldnt make as much of a killing as youd think....I told my buddy that he should take the salvage and part it out, but he wanted the cash in hand. The tires/wheels were worth the 850$ as it were, and the rest would be a bonus. However he just wanted cash now.

If you can find out what salvage vendor the ins. company uses, I'm sure you or anyone in the area could get it. I'm an adjuster and our salvage vender has auctions that I think are open to anyone. 8500 is a good settlement!
