I was just wondering if anyone here has installed the "functional" shaker hood scoop system that is available for the V6? If so, how do you like it and does it provide any real additional gain?

I would imagine they give some sort of boost due to the fact its getting "real" cold air. However, the tubing system they use often uses the stock tubing as well, and seems to be cumbersome (tubes go from the shaker, down to the stock intake box).

To me, it seems like it's not worth doing, even if you got 20 horses from it. Most kits I've see start at about $700-$1300 and I didn't notice a retune included. And that's not even including the fact of the labor and a big hole you'd need in the hood.

I would love to have one too, I think they're sweet, but I'd rather plop that money into a super charger or a turbo :D
