Shift knob question

I have an '08 GT. The factory shift knob is a a brushed metallic silver and feels small in my hand, as well as a little too "slick". I just bought a Hurst classic white "cue ball" style knob with the shift pattern. Does the old knob just unscrew and then screw the new one on? Can anything be this simple?

yeah, it literally does just unscrew. you'll have to hold the shift boot where the knob and the boot meet. just keep unscrewing it until it's not connected, then work the knob out of the top of the boot.

Thank you, it actually came right off as easy as that. Tomorrow, the new Hurst ball will be here and give the '08 a little retro flair.

Did your shift ball come with a boot collar? If not, you're going to need to order one or fashion something, otherwise your booth will look funny.

Yes, it does come with the boot collar.
