I dunno how many of you guys out there do any sim racing on your PCs but I thought I'd let you know that after 3 years of development RSR has released NAGT (North American GT) which is a modification to the ever popular rFactor loosely based on the Speed World Challenge GT Championship.

You get to flog around the track a lot of different cars involved in the series including the CTS-V, 911 GT3, Aston Martin DBR9, Viper, C6 Corvette, GTO, Volvo S60R, and last but not least the FR500GT!

NASA has a sim racing section called race2play you can get the mod there if you have rFactor I highly recommend it.

That's cool, I'll have to check it out. The one thing I hate about rFactor is that the mods can really be hit or miss. The only ones that have been really good are the Megane Trophy and the F1 1979 mod.

Anyways, I've been too busy with iRacing (iRacing.com) lately. I was part of the pre-release team and have been at it for a couple of months now and have simply been blown away by the realism.

Does it accurately model rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive?

I've been playing GTR2 and Race 07 WTCC. I'm anxious to try GTR Evolution which has the Audi R8 (production and race version). The R8 is supposed to have Quattro, so I am trying to find out if Evo models an AWD car accurately.

Race 07 WTCC contains some FWD race cars and it's actually quite a blast to flog them on the track (torque-steer and throttle lift off oversteer are all modeled). I haven't found any racer sims that have AWD other than Xpand Rally.

You have to remember that most mods are built by enthusiasts who are more or less adept at programming a realistic set of physics and or modeling a carset. That said there are groups who have access to real data and are thus more likely to be accurate then others (even some videogame/sim makers).

Metroplex all I can say that anything based on the Gmotor 1 and later Gmotor 2 physics engine (F1 Challenge all the way to GTR Evolution) is going to have a pretty solid physics engine that simulates most drivetrain layouts very well. I can suggest another sim if you want to try your hand with AWD and that is Richard Burns Rally. That one takes the cake in Rally simulations.
