Simple 4-speaker + head unit stereo

Want to put a stereo in my fox. Right now I'm running a 10+year old cd player and 4 aftermarket speakers....so time for something new.

I just want something that sounds clear, and don't want to use an amp or box.

So, how would you put together a simple stereo?

Single din head unit (iPod hookup a plus)
4 speakers in stock locations (rear hatch and door)

If possible, I'd like to use the dash speakers as well....so any way to control 6 speakers with a single head unit?

sounds like you just need to find a deck you like. you can put new speakers of same size in all six locations. you should run new speaker wire to all six. wires for dash and doors would normally be spliced or hooked to same output from deck so that balance front to rear is close to accurate.
