I have a sportster reply. I hated the suction cup mount so i got a pro-fit mounting kit and put it here. Also, i hated running FM modulation. I would get static at times and the sound lacked power do i direct wired it to the Mach 460's cd changer port using a PIE connector. Notice how the Mach 460's dispay says "DJ" on it

    Here's the mounting bracket

Question: I went to the pro fit website and reviewed the installation instructions for the mount. Did you have to remove the radio to remove the trim piece to install the mount?

No, but my center console is different. On the pro-fit instructions with the bracket, it says not to remove the radio on the 01-04 models.

I can take the center trim peice out and not have to touch my radio at all.

I beleive for 94-00 cars, you do need to take it out.
