I had high hopes of running what I set out to run, I was so desperately seeking a 6.6x in the 1/8th mile. The night before I ran a 6.83 getting in and out of the throttle trying to keep things under control (18 mb vid is: http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u154/mrpowderkeg/?action=view¤t=MVI_0486.flv) . Today I made one run, it went arrow straight, got a 6.703 @102mph, not bad for a warm up run. The next run I brought the car up on the converter, the last yellow comes on, I punch it, and next thing I know I'm hard on the breaks knowing I'm going to hit the guard rail. I ended up breaking my rim at the start. It just destroyed the welds and the outer part of the rim (and tire) came off. And here I thought the stock 8 inch 4 lug axles would give first. It makes me think this street/strip car (really sees way more street duty) needs a break, and I should build a different car for a bracket car.
