Sport bike killer hmmmmmm? My gsxr proudly says: Wana bet?

So you run in the LOW 10s, and top out over 170 hungh?

Wow, thats pretty good for a new cobra....

DD
:D

EDIT (the pulley and the car do look DAMN good though!!!!!!)

Thanks everyone!
ddonica351, bring it. :)

Kills, in order:
Aprillia Mille 1000 (Jon and Paul driving)
Yamaha R1 with pipe and power commander (I'm the only witness on this)
Bone stock Busa (Dave witness)
954 RR Stock (I'm the only witness on this)

3 from a roll, Busa from a stop light and then from a roll. The motorcycle guys are funny because when you rev on them, they are like WTF? They ususally hit it and wheelie around 50 to show that they can kick your rear even in a grandstand. But when you pass them, they are in total disbelief. So, they roll up to you again in the full tuck position and want to run again. Even if they get the jump at the start of the race around 50, by the time we hit 120 I am a good car lenght ahead.

That sounds like a challenge!! Can I watch? :D I've heard of '03 Cobras with KB's dipping into the 9's... If I were placing bets, I'd put it on the Cobra, sorry DD :).

I'm sure there are some excellent riders with killer bikes that can take me. The Cobra is insanely fast for a car. If you do the math, they have the horsepower to take a 700 wheel horse car, but <100 ft lbs of torque is where they die. The freeway runs are fun. Stop light to stop light it would just be a race of who can keep the front wheel on the ground and who can hook. It isn't nearly as fun as the freeway.

This is a daily driver, so it has to keep some streetable mannerisms. If I wanted to have a 9 second car, I would have had to put slicks on it and beef up the drive train. But Hook=Break. So, I'm leaving it the way it is and when parts break, I will replace them. 1000 horse axles only cost 1 grand now, and a clutch will be in my future shortly anyway (I can't believe it isn't slipping).

No, my name is Ben. We just finished up the car this week so I haven't had a chance to make it to any meets. I will be at the April 17th meet. I will try to make it to the track tonight but I have another engagement with my wife so it might be difficult.

DD, that would be a good race!
At the track would probably be a different story. A boosted car is going to have the advantage on the street from a roll, especially one with GOBS of torque. You can take a stock '03 Cobra and add a pulley, cai, exaust, and a chip to remove top speed gov. and hit 170. If you have seen Tou's run to 160 on my website you'll see how easy and fast it pulls up to that speed! The Cobra's are flat out amazing.
The guy on the Aprilia didn't like Paul waving goodbye to him at 130. :nice:
It's my fault for not having the video camera (as I always carry it with me). When a camera is around it seems there is never any races. :(

Note: any racing discussed in these posts was done legally on the Autobahn. :)

And that was with you and your brother in the car. The needle actually goes a little quicker when I'm by myself. (not implying anything :) ) I can't imagine how fast Ben's car is! I bet that sucker will just rip through the speedo! :hail2:

Btw, Jon... if you want, we can replace that video with another one that actually hits 160+ MPH. :D

Thanks everyone, we built it as a toy and it sure is a lot of fun.

Didn't they remove the speed limiter on a bone stock 03 at the salt flats and it ran 176?

Oh yeah, I'll do some footage. SpeedAddiction is definitely due for a new video this summer!! Is your speed limiter shut off for sure?

I'll need some of your car in the compilation too Ben.
