I went with the Spyder Shaft. It is a perfect fit with no adapters like some of the other brands out there. I don't know wnything about the Dynotech though.

I have a SpyderShaft on my 05 GT. Dynotech makes good DS's. They didn't have one for the S197 GT's when I was looking.

Steeda's aluminum DS is the SpyderShaft...

    Good to know...

I did not know that the Steeda's aluminum DS is the SpyderShaft, seems it is really a matter of cost between the Dynotech and SpyderShaft.

BTW, since there is less rotating mass, how much additional HP should be realized at the rear wheels?

    Thanks!

I have a dynotech 3.5" on my GT, straight boltup, SO SMOOTH! I have heard of vibration and installation problems with others, so I elected to get the best. I couldnt be happier.

I have to agree with lifter above. I have the dynotech 3.5 rated for over 800 hp. Smooth as silk at high [120] or low speeds not a bit of vibration. Install was done in an hour and cost $70. I was'nt comfortable jacking the car up onto four stands or I would have done it myself in the driveway very simple.

What about the Shaftmasters unit? Does anyone have any experience with that?

Or Denny's for that matter? I've been reading on the other forums that folks really like the Denny's. Mostly because it is 200$ cheaper, but a lot of them drag their cars and are happy with them not having vibration at all under hard acceleration or constant high speeds. I'm looking into getting one myself if the wife will let me :p Just thought I wouild throw it out there as another option...

Drive shaft is one mod I would always go top shelf on.If the driveshaft fails at any speed you are as a rule in for some repair bills.

    Walter,
Just wanted to let you know that our driveshafts come with a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee. No questions asked and we even pay the return shipping in the continental U.S. Out of the 100's of Mustang driveshafts we have sold we have had 5 returned to us.

All Mustang aluminum shafts on the market are made from Dana components and Alcoa aluminum driveline tubing, no matter who does the assembling and balancing.

We price our aluminum shafts with a certain amount of profit margin. We are a small company with low overhead and a minimal advertising budget. We really prefer to let "word of mouth" do the talking for us. Maybe it is a combination of these things that allows us to be "less expensive" (we don't use the word "cheaper" because it implies inferior quality) than our competition.

Now that we have addressed the issue of why our Mustang driveshafts are less expensive than others. Maybe the question needs to be asked as to why some shafts on the market have such a high profit margin built into the price.

    Thanks, David

You will love it. I got the Steeda one in my 06 and its great. No vibrations, noticeably better acceleration. It did not use adapters either. It came with a new pinion flange which they replaced and installed the shaft.

Actually, its not. I had a Spydershaft they took out to put theirs in. It looked different. Welds were much nicer on the Steeda one. Almost like a machine did it instead of a person. Don't know how else to describe it.

Actually it is. Steeda first started selling the LRP Spydershaft, then made arrangements to have it rebadged as their own. This was brought up on another board where reps from Steeda confirmed this...

Care to explain to me then why they looked different then? They werent even close. The spydershaft looked like Ray Charles did the welding. The shaft Steeda put in looked like a robot did the welding. Night and day difference. Oh, and the Steeda didnt vibrate like my Spydershaft either.

I am not arguing this with you. I KNOW FOR A FACT that STEEDA sold the SPYDERSHAFT as their own. This is FACT! It is possible that they may have stopped selling it and have switched to another one. It is possible that LRP has changed providers as well and that could explain the differences...
