Started the engine rebuild

    i ordered a notching tool from Lindy Tools wednesday so hopefully it will here soon.

    im hoping my car will be running in the next 2 weeks.

    Im a pretty lucky kid to have a dad like mine.
    I couldnt have done any of this if it wasnt for him.
    Heck I probly wouldnt have liked cars if it wasnt for him.

    i ordered a notching tool from Lindy Tools, which are great people to work with and sent the tools pretty quick. the only thing is that they sent the wrong size exhaust tool.

    i got all the pistons notched and all the sharp edges smoothed out. all i have to do now is put it back together. here is a picture of one finished piston. sorry about the quality, it was with my phone.

    oh and if you ever have to do this to your pistons, just save up and buy new pistons.
    this was the biggest PITA.

    Looks like it's coming along really well. My sons are interested in cars because of me, lol, always tinkering with something. my 5 year old loves to pass the tools to me. yeah he's going to be a wrench head just like dad!

    i made a ton of progress today.
    i was about to bolt the intake on and realized we didnt have any RTV so im gonna have to borrow some from a friend.

    me and my dad put the engine in yesterday and all thats left to do now is bolt everything back up.
