Whats up guys tried a seach but found nothing similar to my problem. I have a 1993 5.0 notch but my speedo is way off. The car is nearly all stock with the exception of exhaust that i personally did. But other than that is stock minus the air silencer. Anyway when it says im going 60 im really going 85 so its way way off. I think it came with 3.08's stock or 2.93's. Should i just get a new plastic trans gear or what im confused. Normally i can figure this **** out myself but little things like this i always over look. Thanks

Stock choices for your 93 were along the lines of 2.73 stock. 3.08s optional for sticks and 3.27's optional for autos.

I'd compare one wheel revolution to DS revolutions to get an idea of what gears might be inside the pumpkin. Then figure out whatcha need.

    Good luck.

It couldnt have been a factory mess up could it? I mean say it really has 2.73's but they put a 3.08 speedo in it? im sure a customer would have complained. BUt anyway what could have caused this, i want to fix the problem and not just replace the gear and have it mess up again

What did you find when you physically checked what gear ratio you have? Trying to interpolate the stock speedo and tach is a recipe for a screw up.

Find your known ratio and look up what speedo gear you'd need (D&D in Wixom Mi., for one, has a chart). Then compare to what gear you have.

That's how I'd do it atleast.
    Good luck.

Just looking at your numbers ... 60/85=.70~ 30% off ... 2.73 *1.3 = 3.55~ I would guess you have a 23 tooth gear setup for a 3.55 or 3.73 rear end but you need the old 19 tooth gear which is for the Stock 2.73 rearend.

I would try 50resto.com or maybe someone has one you can have ... I'd send you mine but I just tossed it when I went to 3.73. Of course, you're all setup for 3.73.. why make the switch?
