i installed the T/A differential cover today after work. its a very nice piece, strong and looks good, but there was one problem-I HAD TO TAKE OFF MY STEEDA ADJUSTABLE SWAYBAR!!!!! that cover is huge! there was no way it would fit. just thought i'd let everyone know if you wanna run an aftermarket swaybar and diff cover, it aint gonna happen
Good tech.....and a note to self lol. Does the car feel loose? I mean removing a sway bar from a corner carvers car is like removing 2 COPs on a drag racers car! That sucks.
I'm assuming that you put your stocker back on, so you have something there. Does the Steeda Adjustable bar not have that little bump behind the diff? I have a Trick Flow rear girdle that I could see being an issue if that bump wasn't there.
THE CAR FEELS NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENT. i took some corners hard on the way home, forgetting i took off the swaybar, and didnt remember until i was exiting the corner............sideways plus the fact that my tires are bald....not a good combo. and now today its raining. i just cant catch a break. oh, and my diff is def blown. i can feel the one wheel burnouts in the rain so much better. i can fishtail on left corners, but just spin on right corners. that means my right tire is spinning only, right? yeah, the steeda bar has the "bump" that fits around the diff, but it really hugged it. i havent put the stocker back on yet. it was at home while i was doing the install at work. i hope it fits. it looks like it should b/c the steeda adj bar really hugged that diff. but i guess the stocker is better than nothin.
Yep that really sounds like it to me . Its your clutches, they are warn out, your diff itself is fine....the pass side tire is the one that likes to spin when you become "open wheel" . I know my gokart will do donuts on the left side...but since the drive tire is on the pass side, it just spins when you try to do a right handed donut lol. So basically you have 4 choices. A. stay open wheel, leave your sway bar off, and take right handed turns fast ONLY. (going sideways problem FIXD lol) B. Buy a clutch rebuild kit and either do it yourself or pay to have it done. C. Buy a whole new 31 spiline carrier (auburn posi or eaton) and go ahead and upgarde the rearend. D. Buy a 28 spile carrier (auburn or eaton) and have awsome traction...save $250 for axles. (If you dont plan to drag race on sticky DRs or slicks) $350 for diff, and $250 for axles. Roughly. Another way to check to see if its really gone is to buy yourself a SLP line lock .
yeah, ive already made up my mind, option "C" according to you. im in the process of pricing and researching now, since we're pretty friggin dead here at Acura. COME ON ACURA DRIVERS! I KNOW YOU NEED YOUR CAR FIXED!!!
It looks like steeda makes 2 versions of the adjustable bar. For some reason the one that says it fits the TA type cover lists only 79-97? I don't see why it wouldn't fit 98-04. 006-1STA 79-97 Adjustable Rear Swaybar for axel w/TA type differential cover $129.95
I didn't order a Kenny Brown rear sway bar because of my TA cover I think MM makes one that clears...
