the guy who had my coupe before said the sunroof leaked, so he sealed it up with a bunch of gray ****. I finally had time to strip it out and take a look today. actually not to bad, just need to get all the crap he put in there out. But I will need new seals for the glass as well as it looks like the "hoops" that plug into the roof should be replaced. Should I look for the seals at a mustang store or should I let a glass/auto body guy in town take care of it??? thanks, dave
CJ Pony Parts in Harrisburg, PA has the seals. I am going to get a set for my Capri as they are cracked and leaking. They have both seals- the one that fits to the roof panel and the one that fits to the metal strip on the glass. Replacing both of them will make a large difference. If the retaining brackets are bad, that is an item you can only find in the junkyard. When you have the glass out (Super easy to do, just disengage the latch linkage and pull the roof up and slide it towards the rear of the car.) seal the seams well with silicone and then make sure the drain holes are dirt free and drain properly.
