hey guys my friend is taking off his stock supercharger on his 03 cobra and he is selling it for very cheap. i have been lookin to purchase a used blower and this is a great deal im getting. the problem is i have a 89 lx with the following mods in my sig. i know they are not made for that engine but i was wondering if it is at all possible. and if so did anyone ever put it on a 302? how did you do it ? thanks
Anything is possible with enough time and money. That being said, I do not think this can be done reasonably. That blower has an intercooler directly below it that rests in the valley of the 4.6 which is quite large. I doubt the port alignment, shape, or anything are the same beween the two motors (ie. 4.6L vs. 5.0L)...not to mention the fuel injector placement, throttle linkage, pulley alignment, etc. There are roots-style blowers on the market for the 5.0L. Best bet would be to try to sell it on Ebay and invest that money in something made for your motor.
thanks guys i figured it would be pricey to pull off and that kinda defeats the purpose of why i would buy it in the first place. thanks for info though
Same basic function. Same principal. It was based off of the roots wasn't it? Also the only thing not centrifugal for an EFI fox.
http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=779495 All superchargers are the same function and principal really, push more air in the engine by belt power. And there is a difference http://auto.howstuffworks.com/supercharger2.htm http://auto.howstuffworks.com/supercharger3.htm
