ok my headers now are flowtech equal shorties. and they stick out far and come real close to hitting my clutch cable and i have already lost a cable to the headers before.

i considered a swap back to stock headers for now until later when i can get something good like when i swap out motors. it would get the headers away from the cable and save me money.

my friend told me how bad it would be to use stock headers, like how much they suck. but i dont think they will be that bad.

My motor is stock except for 1.7s so i am not making much power at all.
So will i notice a difference power wise, will it rob power or sound??

my exhaust isnt all that great anyway (home made, cut and welded, muffler shop leftover h- pipe and flowmasters.

buy a set of unequal length shorty headers, they will give you more clearance.

Do you have the stock headers now? If you do, throw them on there and see what kind of difference it makes. I don't know if I would buy a set of originals though. That is why I was asking if you have them on hand.

From everything I have read about, the stock headers help the bottom end of the power band on a relatively stock setup. So you might actually gain some feeling back from going back to the originals.

Foxfan88 - If your interested, I have stock headers I'd be willing to sell for cheap. I have one used set, and one set that I believe is new original stock.

    Foxfan,
If you don't have your originals on hand, someone might give you some for FREE. Hell, I threw mine in the trash when I took them off. They're pretty much worthless used.

dunno if a lincoln would have the right bends to clear certain stuff... sure it's the same motor but a different engine bay. just get some mustang stockers and call it a day
