Hey guys, I had my t-5 stored for some time now (drained).

I was cleaning it today, had it flipped over, and noticed there was significant seapage out of the top panel. Is this normal or are there seal(s) bad? I'm wondering if they dried out from having no fluid inside.

In the pic below, the red circle is around the seal that was leaking. The blue circle is around the nose of the trans. It looks like to take the "top" off of the trans to replace the seal, I would need to first take off the "blue" part.

Is this accurate? And is this something that is easy? I have a FSM, but am not good at using it.

Update: I am pretty sure the "leak" was coming from a loose valve on top. You can't see it in the pic, but I *think* the FSM has it labelled as "vent". It moves slightly up and down.

I think I am not going to have to crack her open after all. Thankfully.

That is good to hear. I'm really not wanting to rebuild the trans after doing all the work to the engine! Although I did replace the bearing retainer. And added ONE OF THESE
