Ok...so I had this CRAZY buzzing noise late last year when I cycle the key on without starting the car. I was never able to pinpoint the noise....but I believe it had to be coming from the tach itself....as it was most audible inside the car. This buzzing noise corresponded with some small flickers of the tach itself, and then subsided into a normal state with no buzzing (about 5 seconds or less). With the car started....the tach worked great (and was actually quite accurate).

Fast forward to yesterday when I start the stang up the first time this year....and surprise surprise, no buzzing. Of course the tach is no longer functioning....which leads me to believe that indeed is what the problem was.

So my question is, when the tach goes...what is the deal with fixing them. Is there something that goes out on the board that can be replaced (soldering is no problem), or does the whole damn console need to be swapped?
