What problems did you have with your BBKs Silverbullett00? Only issue I had with mine were they were hitting the motormount support on my K member....until I cabled the engine down :D .

I would definatly recommend them to others if they are looking for lowerpriced nice headers.

Hitting the motor mount and the ceramic coating started PEELING off. Ceramic coating should never peel off, there must have been some defect in the finishing process. BBK wouldnt do anything about it, other than that they were good headers.

Are headers by Kooks ceramic coated or just stainless steel? I've heard you can install these headers without even dropping the kmember, but have also heard its easier to just drop it. gl

    Either or.

Dude.....you spent all that coin and you didn't even get them coated. :nonono:

I remember the day mine showed up......I didn't even want to bolt them onto my car, I wanted to hang them on the wall and put a frame around them. Kooks are by far the best built header out there.....bar none. The only problem with having a rep like that, is that you pay through the nose to get them. Mine ran me $1,300 Canadian by the time I got them to the door. And they only come in a 3/4 length design for the MN12.

Whats the point of getting them coated if they are already stainless? I talked to tons of people about getting these jet hot coated and they said it didnt really make a difference?

Kooks Jet Hot coats their headers inside and out. Those who told you it didn't make a difference were wrong. As far as longevity goes.....no, I doubt a coated set will last any longer, but the ceramic coating keeps the heat inside the header, which promotes scavenging and increased exhaust flow as well as keeps under hood temperatures down.

    Yes....better than any other! :nice:

Kooks headers come standard as uncoated stainless and don't need to be coated for longevity purposes, but the optional Jet Hot coating offered by Kooks definitely helps to keep underhood temps down. Like Gearbanger mentioned, the coating also helps keep the exhaust gas velocity high by radiating the heat back into the primaries. This will make a few extra HP by increasing the scavenging effect during overlap.

Damn if only I lived outside of california. Its pretty much impossible to heavily mod my car with all these smog regulations and a$$hole cops.
