Car in Sig. I have changed to an Off Road H Pipe and Flowmasters from completely stock. Think it has a chance to get me a 14.99999? Providing equal weather from the first trip to the track when I ran 15.2 stock?

Any tips or free Mods to recommend? I would really like to see a 14 something.

It may... but if not, then you can always throw in some 4.10's and a nice stall and you'd be there :nice:

Good luck with it tho mang!!

those factory h-pipes are pretty restrictive as per my experience and subtracting the cats made a huge difference in performance. ** they switched to the 4 cat formula in '98 didn't they??**
I can't say it's a 2 10th's difference but you never know... take it to the track once the crap is all burned out and you should be close

I think your right, mine had 6 cats. And I'm a dog person so they had to go. I will also be losing the spare tire and jack. Will post the results

Do you have MIL eliminators? If not, get some because I think that if your CEL light is on, it retards your timing or something .. been a while since I did mine. Good luck!

Do you have time slips numbers? There may be other ways to drop your times without the H removal. What were your 60ft times? You may just have to adjust your driving style a little to pick up you time.

Its an auto, not much driving style to it. No spin, high 2.1's. And that's both foot braking it and flashing it. Even tried manually shifting it around 5200 and did not Change a bit. It shifts at 55 or 5600 in D.

This is my DD and I will be buying a notch for racing within a year so not wanting to spend money on performance much. Just making it sound good.

Oh, and where should I get the MIL eliminators? And how much are they?

And WOT would not be effected by these cause it goes to Speed Density right?

you can get the mils' almost anywhere.. I got mine from jegs. If I remember right the computer pulls timing when the car goes into limp mode when the c/e light goes on.

and if it's the same as the 96's it has 6 cats (mine did) and there is no way that having those felines hanging can have better performance then a clear open airway.
But I'm sure that in 98 they switched to the 4 cat system... (If I'm wrong correct me)

    '98s still had the 6-cat H-Pipe.

A switch to an off-road H might be worth 2 tenths. When I switched from a 2-cat H back to the factory H when I was selling my car I couldn't believe how much pull I lost from 3-5k.

Your car is MAF but at WOT you are in open loop, not closed loop. The MIL eliminators will save you the annoyance of having to stare down that CEL all the time, plus it will be easier to spot real problems if an actual trouble code does get thrown.

Which means with or without the MIL eliminators it will not effect my 1320 times, correct? Just daily driving and part throttle.

+1 for the 4.10's. Probably the best bang for your buck in a non-PI auto GT.

It's a lot easier to drop from 15.2 to 14.99 than it is to drop 14.2 to 13.99. The off road H-pipe should do the trick for ya. Do a search on the J-mod, it should likely get you another 2 tenths. Also try hitting the track on a cooler evening, your times will be better than if you run on a hot day.
Good luck, hope you let us know how you make out.

In my experience that tripped CEL doesn't affect anything except your mental health. I'd get the MIL eliminators, that way, in the event that you throw a code for something more important (esp a lean code or something else) you'll know about it, instead of just getting used to seeing the light on.
