Well I have a chance to get these parts for $1300. New Trick Flow street Intake Slightly used Roush 200 heads complete with FMS 1.7 RR's (Heads have 4 hours run time) New TFS stage 1 cam and lifter New 75mm throttle body New 76mm mass air with tube Used 24lb injectors I already have MAC longtubes, MAC O/R H-Pipe with MAC Pro dumps, Pulleys, CAT SFI Balancer, and 3:73's. All smog equipment is gone. I was told that the heads will be ok on the stock bottom end with a TFS stage 1 cam, and nothing bigger. I am curious if this would be a good investment. To me it sounds just fine for my wallet! Just dont want to spend money on a combo that might not be a good one! Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Blaine.
Not sure why he would tell you the heads would be too hard on the bottom end, and specify which cam ONLY works. I'd look into the spring rate on those heads and do a bit of research, seems like max lift should be quite a bit higher on aftermarket heads, could e wrong
It's not just the springs. The heads are most likely 2.02" valves being 200cc which will make you run into piston to valve clearance issues. You MUST check piston to valve clearance on assembly. Sounds like a pretty good deal. I would sell the intake and get a Systemax or RPM II. The cam is a little weak but you probably won't be able to run anything crazy with those heads.
