I'm getting a rattle at 1900 RPM, coming from under the timing chain cover. Any ithoughts?

What motor is this? If it has a timing chain, you are under the wrong section.

Yeah, sorry about that, I meant belt and edited it as such, but it didnt change in the main forum.

Just looked closer, its not the timing belt tensioner, its the serpentine. It makes a kind of pop pop pop noise.

    Thoughts?

Anything directly visibly wrong with the tensioner? How can I check and see if its shot?

When my engine is cold and idling the plastic back side of the timing cover often rattles against the back of the cam pulley. I can grab the cover and hold it away from the pulley and the noise stops. After the car warms up for about a minute it stops doing it.

with that cover off and of out the way does it still do it?

Sometimes the serp belt tensioner can cause a knocking/ticking.

I also fixed the title for you
