I had my windows tinted and the rear window came out pretty bad. I'm talking about the area at the top of the window, right in the dot matrix. I asked him if tinting over that area will cause bubbles and he said, "I use a special adhesive that prevents that." Well, it didn't bubble but it doesn't look like the glue even dried. The whole dot matrix area is white, instead of the black tinted look. Anyways, I heard that I can get a black piece of vinyl sticker to go on my outside window to "cover" this up. Supposively it's a natural look and you won't notice the vinyl unless you're up close. Anyone know where to buy pre-fabbed vinyl pieces for the top of my window? I don't want to attempt cutting my own out of a large sheet of vinyl b/c I'm afraid it'll look sloppy. Thanks.

I would just go to a place that does vinyl lettering on cars and they will be able to cut you a piece to fit it.

I am aware that the tinter screwed up. Unfortunately, I have left for college and am not driving three hours home to the tint shop to have it re-done under warranty. Plus, removing tint from a rear window is a **** and he'll probably have to scrape my defroster to get that stuff off, which is something I don't want. Maybe I'll give him a call tomorrow to see what he says again. I'm still open to suggestions though.

the tint is still fairly fresh from the sounds of what you say, and being a tinter he "should" have a steamer which will release the tint adhesive fairly easily without ruining the defroster.

I JUST had mine tinted and he just cut right under that line. looks ok from the outside.. U ust notice it from in the car. I would go to a loacl tint shpo by your school and have them cut the top part off. I think a decal will look bad from the outside...
