Hey guys i got a 2001 bullitt mustang gt and i want to know which tranny would be better for my car? The 600 is only $100 bucks more then the 500. If i did get the TKO 600 , the mods i got is x pipe and intake, so would it be slower with the TKO 600 until i get some more HP, if so how much HP? And what else would i have to change to swap the T3650 to a TKO 500 or TKO 600? thanks for replys

it depends what you want out of the car which tranny is better for you.. but for $100 more I would just get the TKO600. as far as swap parts you will need:

26 spline clutch disc (stock is 10)
    tremec specific bellhousing
tremec specific shifter if not using the base they provide
    D&D crossmember spacer
early 5.0 reverse light switch plug
    possibly a driveshaft spacer

    i wouldnt recomend either.

they are both very hard to shift and many people have problems with them.

my buddy bought a TKO 600 3 months ago for his KB GT and it has already f'ed up the 3rd syncro. it will not shift at anything above 5000 rpm and just sucks in general.

go with a T56, you will be much happier. i think D&D has a complete kit for around $1300

the newer TKO's seem to be better than the one I bought about a year ago. mine had the above mentioned 3rd gear problem but D&D repaired it no charge and so far it feels like its much smoother and I think it will be fine now. I would recommend buying the tranny from them for this very reason.. price is good but their service is great if you have a problem..

they dont advertize pricing but they are the cheapest and if they aren't for some crazy reason they price match.. call them since you will need the spacer from them as well anyway..you can get shifter and bell from them too..

does any1 kno exactly how much the T56 tranny or TKo 500 600 is from D@D and what you get because I found this cheap website its , $1245.00 for a completely remanufactured T56 and if you give them your core T56 they give you 400$.. and you get 6 months of warranty, thats cheapest for a T56 i have seen and comp reman with a 6month warranty.
