i have a 88 notch back with a AOD and i plan on buying a lentech street terminator valve body for it and i was wondering what stall converter i should use? i would like to only spend like 400-600 on the converter with a stall speed of about 2500-2800, and also would it be nessesary to rebuild the rest of the tranny? it has about 77,000 miles on it.

    thanks

Well if you want a top of the line converter,You can buy a 2800 Precision Industries for 725.00. When I was getting my shift kit put in,I asked my mechanic how much a manual valve body was,and he told me they werent good for daily driven cars..I got the PI converter, and am more then happy with it!!! from what i understand the valve body isnt a true manual, it will still shift by itself if left in overdrive(3rd), it just gives you the ability to manual shift it 1st will be 1st, drive will be 2nd and overdrive will be 3rd, with a switch to engage overdrive.
