Hey guys, I am going to get a 1989 four banger t-5 for my 86 hatch. I was wondering if the clutch pedal setup that's in the donor car(89) will fit in my 86...also, can I use the clutch fork and/or clutch also? I'm on an extremely tight budget, and am looking to just get the car going at this point...do I need to get the driveshaft? I already have one now that was bolted up to a c4 auto.

Google shorline garage t5 swap. It is a real good tutorial on the swap. I used it to do mine. Pedals are different but can be made to work. Its in the article.

No, the bell housing, and clutch parts for a 4-banger will not work. You will need all 5.0 specific parts. The pedals will work, but cable is different as are the flywheel. You will need v8 crossmember too.

You also need a special pilot bearing to run a 4-banger t5.

Keep on mind the 4banger t5 is weaker and gear ratios are different. Be prepared to kill it one day and need to swap it out. With that in mind, you might want to consider a 5.0 parts car instead of 4-banger.

Other than pedals and trans itself, no other usable parts
