I took my Mustang in for the TSB on the transmission, TSB 05-8-8. The tech didnt even drive the car and just ordered the sychronizer kit and said they would just replace it. They have yad the car for a week and when I stopped by there today they said he found a broken or rough gear and had to order another part.

My question to them is the TSB says to stop if metal shavings are found and replace the transmission with a new one.

Big Cat, what do you think should I fight for a new tranny?

I would demand a new tranny if they found a broken gear tooth. It wouldn't hurt to **** about it.

keep your cool, but be firm. this goes a long way with the managers. worst case they repair your tranny, best case they replace it.

Big Cat, how do you like the Hurst? I have been wanting one but I think the shifter sticks up to high, how does it feel when driving? Do you have any rattles?

Oh and you must have cats thet ride in your car by the looks of the console in the pics  DUDE CLEAN YOUR CAR!

the shifter is great, feels natural. i dont have any more rattles than there were stock.

i went on a 1100 mile road trip the weekend before that install. i took the wife and 3 dogs! i did not realize it was that bad until i saw the pics, as the flash really picked up EVERYTHING. i was not about to remove the shifter and do it all again just to get some clean pics of my interior. :p its more about the how to than the "how clean is my car?" lol.

Ford has updated the TSB, didnt get the new number but it replaces the current one 08-5-5 and it no longer requires them to replace the tranny. I talked to the tech and he found a tooth broken off of 5th gear. Should get the car back soon.

Also order a Hurst for better control of shifts

How does the Hurst sound when shifting? Is it quiet or is it like the Steeda's "riflebolt" sound? I kinda like that rifle bolt "cha-chunk" sound hehe.
