trany shifter pointer thingy...

I shifted my car from N to R today and noticed that the pointer didnt move so whats the smart thing to do? not tap it! now its sitting below the 1 (PRND21). Is there any thing i should know before i try to take the shifter apart? Is there anyplace to buy a new(ish) stocker?

Take the **** handle off (push in the button and twist and pull),then remove the shifter bezel and look inside and see why the indicator isn't moving.If it's broke,hit the boneyard and grab another one.
