I finally got the car started the other night after over a year of it being off the road. The 347 is complete and cranks, fires and stutters somewhat. My problem is with getting started with the Tweecer RT. I cleaned the pins with a Qtip and alcohol, and even thought they did not look dirty, man a lot of crap came off. I got it installed and the connection is tight, the Tweecer is tightly taped to the J3 port to prevent it from coming off. When I turned the key to the KOEO position, and tried to read the EEC, a dialog box came up saying "Privileged instruction". Each time I tried to read the EEC or the Tweecer, I got the same message. 1. I followed the FAQ instructions and got the above result. Any suggestions? 2. How do I transfer a MAF curve from EEC Analyzer to CalEdit? I used the import/export function to pull it up in CalEdit, is it just a simple matter of writing it to the tweecer now? 3. I played around with a few scalars in the CalEdit program to familiarize myself with the process. I hit refresh after every change, but since I had been getting the "privileged instruction" message, I have not written anything to the tweecer. I changed the displacement, injector slopes, the MAF max voltage, turned off the EGR and thermactor, minor stuff like that. What should I address next? I was so excited to hear her fire even though it was rough and VERY rich. I'm betting the MAF curve change, the displacement change and the injector slope changes will go a long way towards improving idle quality. They way I see it, I have all winter to play around with this setup and get it running "happy"!
1) I have seen some say they used an eraser to clean the pcb contacts to get them really clean and bright. Everything has to be clean or good contact between the Tweecer interface and the pcm won't take place and you will get inconsistent operation of the Tweecer. 2) If I was you, I would hand load the values and double check all values after refresh and file save. 3) Don't have a clue about that PI msg. It might have to do with your os or it might be a V1.30 thing. Grady
I use 1.30A and i have never seen that Priviliged info thing come up. So you can play around in cal edit with the tweecer connected, but you cant read the tweecer or write the tweecer? Did you install the tweecer hardware in your comp?
