Got a Typhoon intake, elbow adapter and a 70mm TB for 519.00 shipped today. What I have not seen is any kind of numbers on HP ratings. Since it replicates an Edelbrock performer shouldnt it get the same kind of HP results? I believe it is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30hp over stock. Does anyone have any info to back those numbers up out there???
It is a copy of the Edel RPM not the Performer. I'm running one and several others on this forum are as well. All you gotta do is look at the dyno charts for an idea of hp tq numbers. The main difference is, it shifts the power band up a bit. It does have the potential to produce a bit more power but it is gonna be higher in the band. As it shifts the band upward, it would not be a very good choice for a bolt on combo or any kind of mild combo as you would experience a loss of low end torque with such combos. Grady
Thanks for the info Finals......Well then it should help me out then...seems like all I have is low end power. My band seems really low now because I can feel a distinct power drop off around 3800 to 4100 RPM. And maybe I'm just new but with 3.73's you get to that power range really fast with nothing to show for it but the need to shift.....I mean arent 5.0's supposed to make their power beyond 4000 RPM?
Take a look here and you'll see why it all happens so quick with your combo http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=622828 Grady
typhoon is a poor choice for stock heads and cam. I know I have run it with stock heads AND a cam, still bad. It works great with Heads anc cam that operate in it's range. Get a performaer upper if you can and it will run faster and stronger
Well I am solving that problem when I get the intake put on. One of my rocker arms is bad on my passenger side head so I ordered some Trick Flow twisted Wedge Heads, Trick Flow 1.6 Roller Rockers, and a Cam to match it all which will be getting installed friday.......so hopefully I should be good....now I just need a tweecer and I'll be in the money.
