I have a 70 fb project with non matching 351M. A 68 n-code T-bird with serious driver door damage hase been offered at a 350.00 take it away price.Would this 68-bird's 429 be considered a plain service block or a "thunder-jet"?Is there a way to identify a desireable block in case there was a replacement.None of the numbers that I can easily see from the intake or near the head/valve cover area have nailed the motor down yet.No engine tag under the big air compresser. The "chevy guy" seller, was told it was a 428 and that got me interested for my 68 fb but it is definatley not an fe block. Would drivetrain be a doable swap for my 70 without alot of unforseen expense. Thanks in advance and,Every... Good... Wish to all.

Crites sells a kit to put a 429 in your car. I don't know the cost of it though. If I were going to the trouble of putting a 429 in my car I'd go ahead and find a 460. You know what they say about discplacement.
