Has anyone visited Saleen HQ's in Irvine or the Saleen Store (is it in Irvine also?)

I will be visiting Southern California in a few weeks and I'm curious if there is anything to see there.. maybe a tour for original or current owners? My mind is telling me "Yeah right" but I'd love to hear if anyone has any experience with this.

In the past Saleen has been good about giving someone who owns a "real" Saleen a tour of the facility. The store is as simple as walking in the front door.

Maybe an employee will chime in.

You can call Saleen directly (not the store) and see what days they do factory tours. I think it's two day a week but can't remember. Earlier this year they did tours for owners.

It's pretty cool if you have never been there. You usually see lots of Mustangs & Trucks being converted as well as the S7 assembly area.

Yep, back in the good ol' days of the 9 Whatney location (& even prior to that) just about any Saleen owner could receive a guided tour of the production facility just by showing up. Sometimes you didn't even have to ask for one; the staff would actually offer to do it.
My personal experience was that Liz Saleen herself conducted my initial tour of the facility in '95 (I got some great photos from that visit, too). The next time I stopped by with a friend someone else conducted the tour & informed me that no photos could be taken. Ditto for when my wife & I visited a year after that.

With the new facility & owners, the only times I know a tour can be taken is during the annual Saleen show in September. I've never attempted to request one @ any other time because of the access granted during the show.

Personally I'd be doubtful if someone could just show up unannounced like in the old days & be offered a tour.

Corporate tours are on the third Thursday of each month at 3pm. Unless you schedule one with a store employee whom will accompany you to the Corporate office and conduct the tour. We do allow pictures throughout most of the facility, but some restrictions apply, so bring your camera!! You can reach us at the store @ 949-725-3361 or call the Corporate office @ 1-800-888-8945. We are located about 3 miles apart. Look forward to seeing you!!

saleenlvr: is it just a case of calling the corporate office to book a tour or do I need to ask for anyone in particular?

    thanks, EDGE

Just from my experience in late June- not sure that it will work out like it did for me but I showed up at the store around 12:30PM. Once some other employees showed up at the store, Ryan took my friend and I over to HQ for the tour.

It was more that we could have asked for and he did a great job- very knowledgeable and from what I understand, he is the lead man on S7 sales in Irvine. Good luck
