Soon I will be getting a forged shortblock from VT engines for my future Kennebell. How will my car run if I put the new shortblock running 8.5 compression. How much power will I lose. The reason I wnt to install it before the blower is VT engines will hold a core charge until I send them my old block back with the crank

Lot of variables to consider there... but with only an 8.5 compression ratio you're gonna be down on power for sure. How much? Who knows... what other mods minus the KB would this motor be running?

Everything on my sig . I will be removing the 4.30 gears when I get the blower, but that won't be for at least 9 months after I install the shortblock

I'm sure there's got to be a mathmatical formula or conversion somewhere that would give us at least a ball park figure. What does your current combo put down as far as RWHP? Is this new VT block the same displacement or a little larger? What is the stock CR of your motor?

Stock compression is 9.85. It will be the same displacement. My numbers right now with the SCT tune is 330rwhp
