What is this and where do I get it?

Ford p.n F29A11572DA. Its located on my stearing colum. What is it for? It is falling apart and if you shake it my turn signals stop working and my car starts to run rough. Is there a company that sells it other than ford? I searched rock auto but they didnt have anything. How much are they?

I believe thats the part number for the ignition switch. If so you should be able to get one at your local parts store. I got mine at autozone for 12 bucks.

This is what it should look like.

If i remember correctly you need the special torx drivers to remove it, the ones with a hollow tip.
I also think they are only available at auto part stores.

If you can't find the tamperproof torx bit for the screws you can use a pair of small channel locks and grab the mounting screws by the edges and take them out that way. That is what I had to do when mine went out on me driving home a few weeks ago.
