You need a front sump pan for a 351w.
If the pan you have is for a W, then you are fine.
You cannot use a rear sump pan on a 69 car. (assuming stock suspension)
    Good luck

the oil pump is int he same place in both years, but if you have a 351w that has a dual sump pan, the pick up tube runs to the rear, and will not work with the early front sump pan.

You will need the pan with the front sump. Go to jegs.com and lookup part# 710-20507. It's a Moroso street/strip front sump 7quart pan for the 351 windsor. This is the pan I got for my car. 70 mach 1 with a 69 block with 408 cubic inches. Hope this helps! :nice:

New motor is the 408. I am still putting it together right now. I have all the parts except the cam and lifters. Should be a fun motor. :nice:
