So my wife and I stopped in to test out a new GT vert.
Tungsten with black, very cool at night.

The dealer hands us the keys and my wife takes it around the block, and MASHES THE THROTTLE.

Now, my 00 GT vert makes a nice sound when you stand on it, but what was that "whooooooosh" sound this one makes? It sounds just like it has a supercharger. Is it just the induction cowling, or the pulley system or what?

    Very impressed with that car...

Your descriptions sounds like the Cold Air Intake which can be heard at WOT. Wait til you change it out for a real CAI, then you'll REALLY hear it.

Wow, it was a hair raising sound, from the passenger side of the car, it seemed like.
    Just awesome.
The only problem: my 00GTvert doesn't sound as cool anymore, but isn't that always how it goes? :)

My Lightning makes a real strange high pitched sound when I stand on it, but the Stang doesn't, There must be something wrong with the Lightning.

that's the plastic intake manifold and the intake runners opening up at higher rpms. it sounds very cool with these 3v motors.

My truck is just a lowly 4.6 V8, but it makes this cool whining sound when it's gaining speed, sort of reminds me of what an alien spaceship might sound like. This is from the front, of course. I can still hear the roaring rumble of my exhaust, too, so it's all cool. :D I'm sure it's not as cool as a new 'stang's, though.
