why did you buy s197 vs. cobra

    I went through this exact same argument. I went with the S197 because it is all around a better platform. The cobra is based on a 1979 (and older) chassis and is rather outdated. Its heavy, and doesn't look at all like a new car. There are now TWO generations of newer mustangs than the 03/04 Cobras. The only benefit to the Cobra is the motor. Its bullet proof, and already makes a lot of power.

    The best of both worlds.....slap a supercharger on a S197. Thats what I did, and I'm absolutely happy with my choice. IMO my car looks much better than a termi, and I can hang right there with a termi. I have a ton of potential to turn up the boost too.

    Overall, It depends on what you want. If you want a good looking, fast street car...a blower on a S197 will be awesome for that. If you're racing a lot, you'll get fast times easier initially with the termi...but if you build the motor in the GT, with a blower...you have a big weight advantage.

    Its a tough choice indeed.

    i would love to have a termi, i think they are one is the baddest looking mutangs to date.

    For me it was tough but my wife talked me into an s197. One being for the interior since I have a 95 mustang it's the same thing practically, plus I do like the body style of the s197. Two, The fact of knowing I'll have something NEW and not have to worry about the chance of inheritating somebody elses problems...plus knowing it hasn't been beat on (I know all all 03-04's have), Third is knowing it had a warranty...granted it was only good for a year (39k miles on it and it had 3 when I bought it :( ) Fourth, i can make this just a quick and fun as the 03-04 cobra. I'd still love a cobra but something newer was much more practical as I drive about 100 miles a day...plus I don't think the 03-04 cobra would get the gas mileage that mine currently averages (27-29 mpg)

    Im sorry to say you cant compare that way .take a never driven 03 cobra vs gt .cobra out does it by far.when the new style came out wow and now owell when it goes by u but a cobra is still damn! 5yrs later

    Cobra was also underrated on hp. 400rwhp and only 20 thousand made how many left?cant answer for 07gt
