i have an 87 mustang that i need to bring through emmissions, now i have an off road h-pipe on there now, with a full 2.5" exhaust. I happen to have an original 2.25" h-pipe with cats, will this bolt onto the car and fit, or will i have problems. Kind of a stupid question i know but i just need to know if i will have to buy another one. thanks guys

Yes, so long as you have shorty headers, it will go right in...

is it just a visual inspection?? If so just remove the heatshields from the catted pipe and tack weld them to the off-road pipe, Save you the hassle of changing over every year. This is what i did, and i pass every year !:nice:

Yes it works. I am currently running a stock h-pipe with aftermarket shorty headers and 2.5" cat-back

Nope CT is the sniff test and a tough one at that, I barely passed with my car! That and they hounded my brother for not having the EGR hooked up on his.

A few people I know passed easily. My brothers 86 and mine had issues passing. I have long tubes and made an Hpipe which is one reason it had a hard time, but a friend with a HCI 302 with a very similar homemade Hpipe, and no smog pump, passed with flying colors.

    Good luck with it!
