The weather is so nice out today I decided to open her up, I love hearing 2nd and third gear scratches. Anyway when I mashed it from like 5mph I heard something I have never heard before. It sounds like something is hitting the floorboard? Rapidly too, thumpthumpthumpthump, soon as the tires grab it quits. Could it be a bad U joint?

Could be,but sounds like the tranny mount.Also could be motor mounts.Last week before I traded off the GT the motor mounts went...when I got on it sounded like a hammer hittin the frame.But my best and first guess would be tranny mount.Look at the rear of the tranny right where the cross member is at,look and see if the rubber between the cross member and tranny is seperated...if so then theres your problem.A bad tranny mount should make that sound everytime you pull out from a dead stop.
