This is the WEAKEST argument of all time. I have said this with every argument comparing new vs used cars. I will give you $68K, it is going to take all of that to make a car that still wont be as nice as a new Vette. No warrenty, you plan to toss in heated seats, navigation, and one of the best front to rear weight ratios of any car out there? Your going to knock a fox down to 3100 lbs, and be quiet and comfortable yet still run 130+ mph (figuring a few mods on the Vette)? Your going to do all this, get mid to upper 20 mpg in the highway, and have the resale value. NOPE, I think you don't actually understand there is a LOT more to a new Z06 than just a 1/4 mile time, and that is what the money buys you, and some of that stuff can't be had in a fox body. I am sure you have never actually tried to price out building a 130 mph trap, stock ideling, mid to upper 20 mpg, with all brand new warranty parts. Now remember your tranny and rear have to have all of the best stuff out there, all brand new, and your car CAN'T be a drag only car, has to handle like a dream, ride like a new car (yes the Vette although somewhat harsh does ride like a new car) and do it all without getting your hands dirty. See what I mean. New vs Old never compares right, you can sway it either way. We build cars to put our own blood swet and tears in them, Vette owners buy these cars to have the fastest, best car their $75000 can buy!
