How about power steering probobly non rack and pinion that doesn't cost a couple of grand. I'm not an engineer, but seems a more simple system like in 70's pick- ups could be made to work with cheap reliable off the shelf parts and a minimal of custum parts.

With many folks lowering their cars as much as two inches, the shocks are no longer centered in their travel- they're well into the compression stroke.
How about some front AND rear mounts that allow the shocks to be in the center of its stroke again?

Probably outside your realm of expertise, but... a repro Rally Pack that didn't cost the rediculous amounts they're garnering on ebay (and one that used modern, more accurate internals... perhaps one that could connect to an MSD style ignition's tach port) would probably be a hit. A huge one.

Adjustable strut rods. Yeah everybody sells them..but the actual rod can be assembled for cheap. The bracket that attaches to the front frame is what is special. Everyone makes one a little bit different, but they all serve the same purpose.

Design/Sell one for a pair for $50-75...along with the parts list to fab the rest of the bracket, and you'll have a path to your door.

Windows for both doors that would eliminate the vent windows. New tracks would also be needed. I have only found one place that has done this and wanted 5700 bucks to do it for others.

Hi Historic, I'd love to have some 'retirement time' on my hands, but I'm only 35 (ish:D ) so I'll have to leave that up to my dad who has just ticked over into 'retirement' mode.

One thing that i have tried to do with my '65's redevelopment is to try to incorporate as many late model items into my car as possible. You know, things that you can depend on being available (hopefully cheaply) at you local REPCO or Supercheap Auto (OZ references - Google will explain if required :D ).

It really depends on what market you want to cater for. If my father was running a Mustang business it would be 'factory original' all the way concern. If I were running a Mustang business it would be a "how I can incorporate as much modern technology into a classic shell' business. - stick to what you know best and what your 'restoration beliefs' will allow.

So, what are your strengths? Fabrication? Moulds (f/glass)? Engine building? Suspension tuning? What are your manufacturing capabilities? machining? cnc?

Well engineered bolt-on items are ideal for the 'joe average' backyard mechanics, but most of this type of items have already been done to death so unless you have something unique or better engineered you'll have trouble getting a foothold in this market.
