Just wondering if anybody is running one of these. And what they think of it. And on a 351 would you have to move the rad at all? I am considering running one on a 351w stroked to 427 any thoughts or problems I might run into. Its going to be in a 95GT vert. w/tubular k-member, sub frames and a 6 point cage.

hope you have an aftermarket block cause you split any factory block right down the middle with that beast..
 
That's a big boy blower. I don't think anyone here is running something like that. I think you are going to need something a little more substantial than a 6pt. That blower is capable of pushing 2000hp on a 408 (6000hp on an LS1). You're going to have to spend a lot of money to take full advantage of that blower.

I realize how big it is but the #'s and flow rates are impressive. I only planned on running about 16psi aiming to put down approx. 850hp. Was thinking the D1 but would rather have a self contained unit. The block is going to be from DSS. with AFR 225 heads.

Sounds like a pretty solid plan. A stock 351 block can probably handle that, but you are going to be real close to the limit. What kind of transmission are you going to put on it?

A T56 from D&D with a scattershield incase it decides to let loose. Ive heard of people running as much as 900 on these trannys with no problems. they say they are rated at 750 ft lbs of torque. I am gonna croos my fingers and hope it doesnt blow up. Dont really want an auto. I am hoping to start this project in the next 2 months and work on it all winter hoping to have it done by next summer depending on cash flow and time to work on it.
 
Once again, theres no FORD block that can handle that power...

The most reliable power you can get out of an early 351 is around 750, and thats really pushing it..

There are quite a few stock blocks with that kind of power. There is a turbo mustang in Texas running 900rwhp on a stock 302 block.

Good luck with the D&D T56. I've had nothing but problems with mine. First 4th gear grinded with the transmission right out of the crate. They fixed that problem for free. Now my car will not shift at all @ WOT. But that could be clutch related...? We will see when I put in the new clutch.
 
I am still running my completely stock tranny with my mods that I have done to my car. The only thing I have done is put royal purple fluid in it. Yeah I know with 600+ horsepower It will eventually go out. I personally will be upgrading to an 03-04 cobra 6 speed transmission. You might check into that route.

Last I heard, he kept blowing head gaskets. But the block keeps holding up. This was awhile ago, and I haven't kept up. Some people have more dollars than sense, and like to see how far they can push things. I have a friend running 11.0 on an N/A stock cylinder head LT1. His engine eats through some part of the valvetrain every 6 months, but like he says. "I just want to see how far I can make it go." I don't have that kind of money, but I got my stock block 347 to go 85,000 miles with almost 500rwhp. If you have the money, there's no harm in experimenting. For the rest of us, there's a 351 block.

true true.. I DON'T have the money to spend on a nice rotating assembly just to see it puked out the bottom of the oil pan.. Thats exactly why I bit the bullet and bought a DART IE..

I really wish our blocks did hold up to Modular-like power levels.. If they did, these would be some of the cheapest engines in existance to make wicked power with.. I started out with a 4.6 stang and went back to a 302 because parts were cheaper and and more numerous.. Just about as I made the switch, parts for 4.6's took off.. GRRR

Oh well, I'm way to deep to go back again... My next project will have 10 cylinders
 
That's cool. I've seen a couple of V10 Mustangs. There was a guy in NC that took two 4V cylinder heads, cut them, and welded them together to make a 4 valve per cylinder V10 head.
