Can youget 300 RWHP From bolt-ons?

I'm at 262/300 with shortys, catted x, slp and aluminum driveshaft on a mustang dyno. I'td be possible with cams and a good tune, not too many more basic boltons to do to my motor.
I don't think you can do it with the stock TB and plenum and shorties even with cams. it will be close but probably 5-10 short.

yeah but what dyno, and to what bhp standard.

If it was a Dynojet then you may have seen nearer 250rwhp on a Mustang dyno, 300rwhp suddenly seems a lot further away.

Plus the more bolt ons you have, the less effect you'll get from the next ones.

Dynojet, SAE Standard

I don't subsrcibe to your "diminishing effect" theory. You have to consider each mod on its own depending on what it is.

My first mod was BBK LTs, OffroadX, and Magnaflow Catback. That way when I did each mod on the intake side, I could gauge true gains. If I had modded my intake side and done nothing to let the engine exhale, when I did the exhaust, I could have seen a 35+ HP gain, instead of the 24 rwhp/19rwtq gain that I did.

well it's true I'm afraid. While the restrictions are outside the engine you can reduce them, once the heads/cams become the restriction, ie limiting how big a bang you can get the exterior mods will cease to have any new affect.

If you don't believe me go and add up what add the mods claim over a STOCK engine. The total number will be impressive. However their combined gain is less than the sum of their parts.

I looked into this with Fbody's. Ignoring lightweight driveshafts and such, and just sticking with mods that actually increase the engine BHP not just rwhp.

So if you got all the Fbody bolt ons, so NO power adder and NO heads/cam you should be able to see the high side 450rwhp.

Which is stupid, as 340-350rwhp is much nearer the mark. pushing 370-375rwhp is probably possible but most don't get all the bolt ons.

Each mod compared to STOCK will give the amount quoted as a rule. But for example adding a cut out to a very good free flowing exhaust system will possibe yeild nothing to less than 5rwhp gain. But on a stock setup you could easily see 20-40rwhp gain.

I haven't seen one make 300rwhp yet without cams and or P&P heads. And i don't consider them bolt ons. 280-285rwhp should be attainable on a 5sp with long tubes good tune and everything else...
Maybe a NPI with a PI swap may get closer with the raised compression?

imho. the 4v will make a better na car then the 2v that said
save your money and invest in a superchager believe me you will be happier but if na is for you

bolt-ons needed

full exuast
full intake (75mm tb, cai, plenum)
full headwork (bolt-ins)
camms (bolt-ins)
pullies

will get you into the 300 range

add to that

3.73 or 4.10 gears
a good suspension set-up( struts,31-spline rear,springs)
drag radials or slicks

omg did i forget (alittle driving skills are needed)

and you are looking at a 12's car easy
and thats with the spare still in the trunk

now add 100shot of nos to that and you got a real na/nos street killer there hehe and you will be close to 350-400hp and 450-500 tq and thats in blower range

or like a said before you could just get a good blower and sit at about 350hp all day long and spend all that extra money on some rims or something

look at it like this

ported heads and valves about 1400.00 + 500.00 install
camms 550.00 + 300.00 install
headers 400.00 + 250.00 install
full exuast 500.00
intake (cai/tb/plenum) 600.00
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3900.00+1050 install on the hard stiff

avg blower 3700.00+1000.00 install ( still will need a good tone if not included in the install)

blower and all that bolt-on bolt-in stuff is a bout the same but the blower will be making 50+ more hp for the same money

ps i for got all that extra money you will have will come from all the races you win with the blown car :D
