I have the UPR shifter. Has worked flawlessly for 4 years now with over 70 runs down the track and daily street shifting abuse.

Can't compare to anything but a Pro5.0 shifter. It works just as good for less $$$$.

Before you buy, at least take a look at the MGW shifter. Those things are tanks, feel great, short throw, and are quieter than stock. Every other shifter gets at least some complaints about noise, but I have never read a complaint about noise with an MGW shifter.

Yea, anything is better than stock really. I've tried steeda, pro5.0, hurst, and upr. I have steeda in my car right now, somehow I still manage to miss third, it's noisy and doesn't shift too smooth. The pro5.0 in my friends car is amazing, shifts are really smooth and it's a nice shifter overall. The hurst was alright too, but felt on the steeda lines, and likewise with the upr. If I drove with them longer I could probably tell more differences. But i'd have to say go with pro5.0 you won't be disappointed.

Here are my favorites and why in order: 1. Mgw, Quiet, solid, positive shift, adjustable. 2. Tri ax, solid, positive shift feel, adjustable. 3. pro 5.0 same as tri ax but heavier. Those are the only ones I have experience with. Also when I say adjustable I mean handle height, and set screws.

I have a UPR and I'd have to say, it's an ok shifter, at times I feel that it's harder to get into gears compared to the Hurst i used to have on my 90 GT. specially when coming from a stop, I'd have difficulty going into gear, thought it was the tranny, but I swapped back to stock and it was fine..

What is this world coming to when the noise from a SHIFTER is an issue? I'm rolling around town in my fully worked mustang with screaming exhaust and a few clicks from the shifter is going to annoy me?

Mine makes it sound like I have a twinscrew supercharger when I am at full throttle:D

I know the whine comes from the lack of rubber isolaters so I just live with it. Better than bending a shift fork.
