More horsepower

I have a V6 pony package 2007. I was wondering what parts I need to give my car more horsepower. I'm trying to get at least 350 hp. Also, I was wondering how much the parts would cost.

a Vortech supercharger will give you 295 hp, add the intercooler and you can see 330. With the 300+ lb less weight you have it's like effectively having 360 hp. Any more than that and you'll need to start adding new engine parts. 6-9 lbs of boost is safe for the stock bottom end.

Actually... the 4.0L is holding up incredibly well to the higher boost levels...

I personally have been running 12 PSI now for quite some time... after running 10PSI for like almost 30,000 miles... numerous dyno pulls and track time..

We are seeing guys with 380 RWHP or more on stock 4.0Ls... one guy in Colorado is pushing 440 RWHP with the stock bottom end!

An intercooled Vortech running 10PSI should give you over 300RWHP which should be close to 340 HP at the crank... This should be a safe setup..

Oh, and another guy running a stock 4.0L motor is running 14PSI (PH turbo) with a 75 shot of N20... he went 11.0 the other night!

There were a lot of doom and gloom threads about how fragile the 4.0L is... and that it would never stand up to any amount of boost.. I think we are really starting to prove that's not true...

Nice stuff this V6 does man tooooo bad its only a V6......LOL

On stock internals, 11.02 just amazing....

agreed, but 2 things; first stock internals won't stay stock for long with too much boost. And you being a gearhead are much more attuned to your engine than the average joe. For the average guy your kind of power will spell the demise of his expensive engine. Anyone who asks how to make more horsepower is certainly not as much in the know as you are, or they wouldn't have to ask.

And my pals shop car, boosted to 12 psi just came apart in New Jersey. They've ordered a new heavy duty block and dropping in forged rods and crank, and installing pistons with a different ring groove in them. The stock ring design is not conducive to too much boost or NoS.
