I've adjusted the way I buckle up to avoid the belt twisting or jamming up. It's worked pretty good for me for a while. Now, passengers just go mentally retarted when they get in my car. They will pull too fast or in the wrong way, jam it up, then wedge it in so tight that they are stuck there for 20 minutes trying to fix it. I found that if the seat is far enough forward and the belt is in the useless hoop on the side of the seat, they won't jam up. Unfortunately for me, I have to have my seat in the far back position while driving, since the seat rubs against the door and will squeak a TON if it's forward at all.
There's actually a TSB on the seatbelts, where they will either install a whole new seatbelt with this part, or they will just add it to your existing belt. It's just a thick teflon strip wrapped around the pivoting part where the belt slides over. I'll take a picture of it, because my mom's 04 has it, but my 01 and 02 didn't. It really makes a difference!
