Thinking Of Ditching The Cobra Stuff.

I don't necessarily care when it comes to the Cobra vs. GT spoiler, but the bumper hands down needs to be the Cobra version as the stock 87-93 GT rear bumper is a deal breaker for me.

Clean and simple would look nice. I wouldn't dump the Cobra stuff for GT, personally I like the Cobra stuff better (including the side skirts and gender extensions). Personally I wouldn't change that. I agree with doing some FR500s, however I say do a nice 13" Cobra brake set up, fox axles and run 18x9 and 10 combo (I'm biased). Toss in a nice suspension, good exhaust, and make a bit more power. My sister had a clean GT that was just a driver (only ever went 13s with a GT40 set up) but it was nice to drive around all the time, verse mine or my brothers that can get "old" fast.

I think the Cobra stuff is sleeker than GT, personally. But like I said before, a clean GT can look great. I first planned to change my GT over.

My GT when I bought it.

My original plans using Cobra stuff...

My point is, use the Cobra stuff if you already have it. It looks factory, because it was.

I guess I'm kinda different (what a surprise) I like the gt rear cover with the tail pipes peeking out, I always thought the shiney pipes looked good on the lx and the sn95's but have been over done on every other car and truck on the road today.

im in one of these odd places where i'll need 3" tails, flowmaster is the only company ive seen make them that fit worth a damn, who these days they ONLY make the lx/cobra style, and i need a new rear bumper cover anyway (melty). would much rather go with the "ford tooling" gt style from lmr (gotta wonder who actually bought those molds) than the twice as expensive cervinis cobra, but.....

Same here. Pre-Skirt GTs and Post-Skirt LX = Shiney Tail Pipes

Cutting holes in a skirt made for dumps is sacrilege.

I do really like a set of pipes on a Post-Skirt GT that hug up into the valance though. So many are done wrong. :nonono:

I’d love to convert mine to cobra panels but I really like the clean GT look also.
Either way mines getting a stock front bumper put back on it
