    Burned 67 Mustang GT cv

I don't look back, it's something that I did not want to get involved in. That being said, I just purchased a 69 Mach I, 351 w/Automatic that I would like to install a big block in, so now I'm searching. I know where a 67 Fairlane GT 4sp with a big block sitting in the woods next to an old...

    Burned 67 Mustang GT cv

Update, the guy has terrible luck, Last year he went to eat and had a heart attack and died. so sad. I don't know what happened to the car. I just didn't want to go through that mess. If you think the car was bad and I did, he had the worst that could happen. RIP

    Boss 302 Engine/transmission question

Your right, I can't tell you as a car dealer how many people have told me over the years that "their" car had a boss motor in it. Most of the time I would just go along with it. I can't remember any of them ever materializing and I've been doing this for 35 years. I do remember the 428...

    Boss 302 Engine/transmission question

Thanks guys I don't have a boss, I have a 70 Mach I with a 351C motor. Those were good points to bring up about threading the freeze plugs. I don't really need the motor but as any Ford collector, anything that says Boss and is real is appealing. The guy was at a local car show today with...

    Boss 302 Engine/transmission question

Thanks for all the info I'll let you know how it goes. He says the motor is complete from the caburator down. I know enough about these cars to get myself in trouble. I'll watch for the casting numbers, screw in freeze plugs, screw in studs and the input on the trans. I'll probably ask him...

    Boss 302 Engine/transmission question

I spoke to him on the phone this morning, he said he was offered $3000 for the motor a couple of years ago but turned it down. I believe that's what it can purchase for and maybe the trans. He's calling me back once he gets everything out of storage. It could be a wild goose chase but I'd...

    Boss 302 Engine/transmission question

We are in the car business, we have a person who says they have a "real" Boss 302 engine and 4 speed transmission for sale. He says it's been stored for a long time but now needs a car and has no money. I'm a little concerned because things like that don't happen much and the over the past...

Covertible top repair on my 03 Cobra

Hi, Haven't been here in awhile. Our 03 Cobra looks like a parachute going down the interstate. I was told by the upholestry shop to fix it correctly I would need a new top @ $800. He says you can glue it but it won't last. Has anyone tried to glue the top back down and if so, maybe a...

No Power, pops out back, runs hot, and Pi$$ me off

Did you say you tried another carb? I had a new 780 Holley but had it stored for 2 years, put it on my new rebuilt motor and went through a lot of the stuff you have done. My plugs were filing out. Took my carb to a repair shop, an old drag racer, had it rebuilt and it did the same thing...

    Burned 67 Mustang GT cv

He called me again today, really needing transportation. I have a problem with storing a vehicle like that. I don't live in the city but it's still an eye sore. Maybe I'll get it and just remove the good stuff and scrap iron the rest. I sure is ashame, I know those convertible frames are...

    Burned 67 Mustang GT cv

WOW, beautiful But I'm not that good, I recently restored a 70 Mach I, 4 years in the process, I don't think I ever want to do it again, although I do love my car. I think I can get this burned car for $500 (trading him a car that runs) he extremely in debt because of the fire and I do feel...

    Burned 67 Mustang GT cv

Actually, I know the guy and knew the circumstances around the car. It was a barn find in Tenn. He knew I fooled with mustangs and asked me if I was interested, of course I said yes, he did buy it but decided to restore it himself. He spend 30k bringing it back to stock, didn't ever think he...

    Burned 67 Mustang GT cv

Hi, I have access to purchasing a 67 Ford mustang CV 390 4v numbers car (automatic) but it is burned pretty badly, real bad actually. I don't have pictures now but will have. I know this was a rare car, is there anyway the engine is damaged in a fire, what else maybe worth salvaging? I tried...

Hurst Competition shifter problems in 70 Mach I

Gosh, thanks for all the advise. I will remove the boot before cutting, which means removing the console, which means removing the gauges, ha. I have set the adjustments according to the instructions with the pin easily going in and out, not a problem there. I've also tried to adjust the...

Hurst Competition shifter problems in 70 Mach I

Thanks, I was wondering about the boot, I have tried to stretch it but yes, it does seem tight. I hate to cut it but I have another one and will try it. No, I have not put in different bushings, I'm using the ones that came with the shifter. I'll try the boot and see what happens, Thanks
