best 1971 -1973 exhaust system kits for 302W

Update on the exhaust. I bought the Hedman 88656 and Pypes SFM04. When I called Pypes the tech line person told me this combination would work. The only issue he mentioned was that since the Hedman's use a ball and socket connector, I'd have to use the right reducer. The headers went on...

best 1971 -1973 exhaust system kits for 302W

SFM04 By the way - I just called Pypes and the SFM04 system for the 71 - 73 is available. Although I think 2 1/4 would be fine with my engine, I don't think I want the Flowmasters that come with the Motive Industry system. With the Pypes, the Race Pro mufflers are the straight through design...

best 1971 -1973 exhaust system kits for 302W

Hedman I have a C4 tranny so may not have the clearance issues that you have. My engine builder said that he's used the Hedman hedders in the past. Hedman Hedders 88656 - Hedman Street Hedders - Overview - SummitRacing.com Summit is saying it's a fit for my 351W.

best 1971 -1973 exhaust system kits for 302W

Which One for My New 351W? I just got my new 351W in my '72 Mustang. It's a pretty mild, flat tappet build. It's bolted up to the old exhaust manifolds right now, but I'm planning on getting some Hedman headers next. What do you all think about the 2 1/4" Motive Industries vs. 2 1/2" Pypes...

    '72 Idiot to Tach Swap

Good point pushrod. I'm wondering if you just get the tach by itself and also get a new circuit board for the tach if that would work?

    '72 Headlight Switch Advise Needed

Thanks for the pics Platonic. I'd love to find an original but what I ended up doing is take a big piece of styrofoam, drilled a hole through the middle, and then razorbladed the block down until it gave nice tight fit. It's working good.

    '72 Idiot to Tach Swap

Thanks That is an awesome write up! There is a wiring harness on Ebay right now but it's $425 which seems pricey since all I really care about is the one plug. Does anyone have a lead on a cheaper option? Do you know anyone that has actually cut the 18 pin and made it work?

    '72 Idiot to Tach Swap

I have a '72 Mustang with idiot lights. I'd like to swap out to a tachometer. I found a good article on doing the swap: http://www.mustangsandmore.com/ubb/RichPajzerGauges.html However, trying to find the wire connector that plugs into the tach is going to be real tough. Can I cut the...

    '72 Headlight Switch Advise Needed

Somewhere along the way the Bezel for my '72 Mustang headlight switch got removed and lost so the switch was just hanging by the wires below the dash. I was able to get a used Bezel and the retaining bolt that screws into the switch from the outside (very hard to find as they don't make new...

    Trap Door (again) Pic?

I had to start a new thread because my old one got hijacked. No matter. Would someone post a pic of the inside of their 71 - 73 Fastback trunk so I can visualize how the trap door latch and catch work? I'm missing my hardware and think that I'm going to have to rig it up with other year's...

Does anyone have a line on a salvage yard out there that has a 71 - 73 Fastback that I can pilfer from? I need the latches and catches for a Trap Door. Also looking for a catch for the Glove Box Door. I'm surprised these are all so hard to find!
