As far as I know there is nothing special about the lug nuts. I'm running the chrome versions and simply purchased the lug nuts with the wheels when I bought them from Tire Rack.
I purchased a pair of LumenTrendz Mustang puddle lights (1 pair in a box) with the idea that this would be a cool addition to the 2000 GT, especially since the new models come with them. Short story: not recommended.
The instructions call for installing them in the bottom of the door, but the...
A quick search of the Internet didn't turn up the torque specs for these sensors. If the spec is for ft-lbs then you may be able to borrow a torque wrench from your local auto parts store. I've done that with my local Advance Auto Parts, but you may need to reserve it if it's a weekend job. If...
It's been a very long time since I was involved in a u-joint replacement and it wasn't for a Mustang. As I remember it was helpful having 2 sets of hands because of needle bearings that tended to fall apart (and all over the ground). American Muscle carries one for $50 (as of right now) and...
If you just put in springs I'd be very surprised if they didn't come with new isolators, so I'd say that's unlikely. It's possible the installer didn't button something up properly (I've done that before) but you probably would have noticed that right after the install.
I think the u-joint might sound more like hitting metal with a hammer. But it would coincide nicely with changing gears. It might be worth checking for a broken spring, while you're down there. Or possibly worn out spring isolators. I'm just guessing based on the sound you described, though.
I was just listening to the Car Talk guys and they suggested to a caller that their mileage might be bad because of a bad thermostat never letting the engine get to running temp. Might be worth checking.
I might be worth checking to see if there is any play in the u-joint or the yoke for the axle. Car's not old enough for that, but a u-joint coming apart can make your day interesting. You didn't give much explanation for the knock. The Car Talk guys would tell you to make the noise. Is it...
It wasn't quite that simple for me. Now I'm the owner of hose clamp pliers. Fortunately the tool was only $35 and available locally. Vise-Grips were okay for getting the hose clamp loose but rubbish for getting it back in place. Also, the coolant was even messier than I thought it would be...
buickgs_15: I got my top replaced this summer, and the installer sourced it from Electron Top Manufacturing (http://www.electrontop.com/). Their tops are made in the US. I went with the cloth top, and it is seriously better looking than the OEM vinyl top that had been on the car for 12 years...
When you're talking about welding your own strut tower brace I'm assuming that you're talking about constructing something that is removable. You can't just weld bars onto the strut towers because that would make it very expensive to execute certain repairs. Depending on the location of the...
A quick search and info on another forum brought me to this link: http://www.yellowmustangregistry.com/Production99.html, which states that 6,372 Electric Green Mustangs were built in the 1999 model year, out of 126,067 total units.
If you don't get a response here you might try searching for "roush forum" to see if you can find some folks with a lot of knowledge on those specific vehicles. You could also look for similar cars for sale on AutoTrader or eBay to get an idea of what the asking prices are.
Summary: To use LED 3157 tail light bulbs you must install at least one resister per light assembly.
Backstory:
I had purchased a sequential tail light kit and I liked the uniqueness of the light sequencing but I felt that it reduced safety a bit. I felt that way because the brake lights are...
Have you tested the fuse? I burned out my brake light fuse over the weekend and when I pulled it I couldn't see that it was burned out. (My eyes aren't getting any younger!) I tested the fuse and found that no current was going through it.
I have a 2000 GT and have had to twice have rotors replaced because the caliper seized up on the slider pins, so I'd start there. You can get special grease for those at your auto parts store.
If the rim vendor says that the rims will fit then they should be fine. The issue you might have with going to a larger wheel is potentially throwing off your speedometer readings. If the overall diameter of the rim/tire is the same as the current setup then it should not make any difference to...
