So my 7.5 axles and brake set up will work on Fox rear end ? That will help in my search, local pull a part is full of v6 stangs not many v8. Would tear it apart anyways to change rear gear, probably 4.10 for road course use.
Inherited 1997 v6 for use as beater track day car. Thinking of swapping 1997 v6 to new edge type v6. Can get motor pretty cheap at junkyard, does it use the same CPU and harness?
Inherited a 1997 v6 mustang, wanting to use as part time road course track car. Don't want to spend much on it, thinking of swapping rear end to an 8.8. What junkyard cars would have one that would work without alterations, Thanks.
Look at Tire Rack summer performance tire test and reviews. The Goodrich comp 2, Hankook Ventus, Bridgestone Potenzas are popular at road course. I have liked the Dunlop Star Specs.
Sure does seem like more work than it's worth. I have driven my Mustang real hard for years on the street and road course with no trouble from trans with my mods maybe 260 HP or so. I did have to get the T56 in my 2000 Camaro SS rebuilt, car is all stock, don't know how hard it was driven before...
Don't know where you got the rack from, beware of Autozone rack. Installed one on mine, would bind up on left turns, didn't realize until after alignment since the shop was right up the street. Of course had to get fresh alignment after reinstall. Now after 3 years rack is sloppy till warmed up...
Get yourself a smallish compressor and a high torque impact, always need air for tires and other tools that will come in handy. Electric one nice but gotta make sure batteries charged all the time.
Grease them till hard and full of grease, don't over do and blow out boot and or seal.
Good idea to replace all the tired bushings, I did a lot of the same things on mine. While your at it look at the MM panhard bar, made a huge difference in handling.
